Futures Thinking is inevitably social. It locates us in the flow and flux of time and space. We live with our ancestors’ hopes and fears and as ancestors of future generations we are part of their inheritance. Building community works on this double axis: community across time and community in the moment.

Community Building draws on the tools of genealogy and critique by looking at our multiple debts to past, present and future while regarding the present as fragile and up for grabs. It weaves this awareness into a sense of shared experience and collective strength.
